Beer
Draught Matters
Unlike wine, beer is rarely meant to age. It takes additives, excessive filtering and preservatives to extend its life. Unfortunately, most of these processes take away from the taste of beer. To put it simply, beer is best when it is fresh. That is the reason the Neighbourhood Group was the first chain in Ontario to fully embrace locally microbrewed draft beer. It’s the freshest and most natural beer available for our guests. Most of the beers we serve at Borealis (and at our downtown pub The Woolwich Arrow) are made from only four ingredients: malted barley, hops, yeast and water. These beers undergo very little processing and, as a result, you’ll taste the freshness and quality.
We feature two of our very own beers at Borealis, made by F & M Brewery in Guelph. They are marketed under our own trademark “Taste of Ontario” and are named after the latest barley harvest. Don’t hesitate to ask your server for the 2008 Harvest Ale or 2008 Harvest Lager.
